How to play Chainle
In Chainle, find the word that brings the clues together. You get five rounds, with one accepted guess per round and a maximum of 5,000 points.

1. Connect two words
In a double-link round, look for a word associated with both clues. For river + money, try bank: a river has a bank, and you keep money in a bank. The same word can connect through two different meanings.
2. Connect three words
A triple link asks for a word that fits three clues. For ocean + sky + eyes, think blue. Check your answer against every clue before submitting.
3. Find a close match
The last round has a single clue. Look for a close synonym. For happy, words such as joyful, cheerful, and glad are strong matches.
How scoring works in this edition
Each Chainle guess is compared with every clue using real GloVe word vectors. Positive cosine similarities are combined with a harmonic mean, rewarding balanced connections. Your result is scaled against the strongest vocabulary word, for up to 1,000 points. Words outside the vocabulary do not use your guess. This model is independent of the original Chainle game.
The original Chainle FAQ describes its word-vector scoring. Scores and daily puzzles on this site are separate from the original.
Your daily routine
A new set is selected at midnight New York time. Your accepted guesses are saved in this browser. Finish the five rounds to copy a spoiler-free score, or switch to unlimited practice.
Your first Chainle game, step by step
- Read the round type. A double link needs a relationship to two clues; a closest match asks for a near synonym.
- Consider at least two meanings for each clue. An everyday word may have a surprising second use.
- Type a single word using letters only. You cannot reuse a displayed clue.
- Choose “Make the connection.” If your word is unlisted, read the message and try again; it does not consume an accepted guess.
- After an accepted answer, review the score and best model link, then continue to the next round.

The Chainle result screen adds your round scores and lets you copy a spoiler-free summary. A 5,000-point result means every accepted answer earned full points in this edition.
